Mark D. Hogue, Ph.D.

Dr. Mark Hogue is the Founder and Executive Director of American Curriculum Consultants (ACC), a leading educational consulting firm dedicated to empowering schools, educators, and students through high-impact curriculum development, instructional innovation, and academic leadership support. With over 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, principal, professor, and researcher, Dr. Hogue brings a visionary approach to transforming learning communities across the world.

A native of Bessemer, Pennsylvania, Dr. Hogue graduated Summa Cum Laude from Slippery Rock University in 2004 with a degree in Education, having earned a National Science Foundation Scholarship in Mathematics Education. He holds Pennsylvania certifications in Elementary Education, Middle School Mathematics, and Secondary Mathematics.

Dr. Hogue began his career at West Middlesex High School, where he served as Mathematics Department Chair for over nine years while also teaching a wide range of mathematics courses and serving as an adjunct instructor for the University of Pittsburgh. His early leadership extended to curriculum development, academic advising, and student engagement.

He went on to earn his principal certification from California University of Pennsylvania and his superintendent letter of eligibility from Westminster College. Dr. Hogue later completed his Ph.D. at Kent State University with a research focus on methodologies and reform-based mathematics and statistics instruction.

In 2013, he was appointed Principal and Director of Secondary Curriculum at Greenville High School, where his leadership led to unprecedented academic growth and national recognition. Under his direction, the school received the U.S. Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon School Award in 2017—one of only 50 high schools in the nation to be honored that year. He also served on the University of Pittsburgh’s College in High School (CHS) Administrative Advisory Board and secured several high-level grants to advance academic programming.

Currently, Dr. Hogue serves as a tenured Associate Professor at Slippery Rock University, teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership, Research Methods, Assessment, and STEM Education. His research has been published in numerous academic journals, including the International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology, Journal of STEM Education, and The Pennsylvania Administrator.

Through ACC, Dr. Hogue combines academic rigor with practical experience to help schools design and implement cutting-edge curriculum, enhance instructional quality, and develop systems of continuous improvement. His leadership continues to shape the future of education by supporting institutions in building programs that prepare students for college, career, and lifelong success.
